As an ,Israeli I knew Eli Cohen was an Israeli spy who was captured and executed in Syria.
Except for that fact, I knew nothing.

About our tour:
The first day of the tour will take place in Tel Aviv, visiting "Israel Intelligence heritage &Commemration Center" (IICC),the Independence Hall the -house in which the State of Israel was born for some historical background that led the State of Israel to recruit Eli Cohen as a spy.
On the next day we will go up north to the Golan heights Following Eli Cohen trail.
The trail connects a collection of eight points related to Eli Cohen's activities in Syria

A little bit about Eli Cohen
Eli was an Israeli spy executed in Syria in 1965.
He was called "Our Man in Damascus"
Eli Cohen was a Zionist who was born to a Jewish family in Egypt. the age In the age of 28 he wanted to be accepted into the Israeli intelligence service in Egypt but was not accepted.
In 1957, when he was 33, he immigrated to Israel.
About 3 years later, was recruited into an intelligence unit.
After completing his training in Israel, he was transferred to Argentina (Nadia, his wife, remained in Israel), He lived there as an Arab merchant, a patriot, named Kamel Amin Thabet and later, was transferred to Syria.
Thanks to his extraordinary nature, wit, intelligence and creativity, Eli was able to make friends with Syrian military and political leaders in Argentina and later in Syria,who shared sensitive information with him and took him on secret military sites.
The information he conveyed to the Israeli intelligence, thwarted many Syrian operations against Israel and allowed the Israeli army to destroy equipment and military bases in Syria,that were to be used against Israel in the Six Day War.
The circumstances of Eli Cohen's capture are controversial, one of them says that Eli was captured in his home in Syria,in real-time, while transmitting information to the Israeli intelligence.
